What is the Health Insurance Marketplace?

Health Insurance Marketplace

The Health Insurance Marketplace is a way to find health coverage that fits your budget and meets your needs. With one application, you can see all your options and enroll. You can apply for private insurance, Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Private insurance plans offered through the Marketplace have the same set of essential health benefits, including doctors visits, preventive care, hospitalization, prescriptions, and more. You cannot be denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions like cancer or diabetes.

How to Enroll

There are three ways to enroll in health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace:

1. Visit www.healthcare.gov

2. Call the Marketplace hotline: 1-800-318-2596

3. Make an appointment with a certified application     counselor at 910-483-6694 x 7029 during the           office hours below.

Get a Break on Costs

When you use the Marketplace, you may be able to get a tax credit to lower costs on your monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs. When you apply, you’ll find out how much you can save. Applying may qualify you for some kind of savings.
